Why does Pip stay devoted to Estella even when he sees how she treats him and her other suitors?

Pip loves her to put it simply. It is also a case of not getting what you really want. THe more Estella plays hard to get, the more Pip wants her. Estella's name actually translates to "star". This is what she remains to Pip; a perfect star out of his reach.
