Pip is the narrator as well as the protagonist of the story. Pip is an orphan being raised by his sister, Mrs. Joe Gargery and her husband, Mr. Joe Gargery, a blacksmith. Pip embarks to London on his quest to become a gentleman.Pip is a boy of good conscience who gets swept away with the illusion of being a wealthy gentleman. Pip finds that attaining this distinction is not what he thought it would be.
