Through the eyes of Gulliver, Swift portraits the lilliputians as human creatures who are less that six inches tall. They speak in a language unknown to Gulliver. Gulliver is impressed as the lilliputians were fearless. That's because from his size, he was like a monster to the lilliputians but they were not scared by him and they were walking on him without trembling or feeling scared. They were the most exellent mathematicians and had a great economy and were ruled by the Emperor of Lilliput who impressed Gulliver due to his elegance, manners and his hospitability though Gulliver was a captive.
