The Lilliputians are about one-twelfth of Gulliver's size. This represents a strong visual contrast. The tiny Lilliputians represent everything that is lacking in the human, mainly British, condition. They represent the pettiness of human nature. They represent the small minded way British society picks and rewards their political figures. They are a microcosm of everything that the Big Gulliver comes from.
