Gulliver's Travels
What is Swift's view of humanity?

I think Gulliver goes from a rather ordinary young man in search of adventure to a rather bitter critic of humanity. After seeing the worst of humanity personified in the people he visited and then seeing enlightened beings in the form of Houyhnhnms, Gulliver hates humanity. The Houyhnhnms are unselfish, rational, cultured. Humanity is the opposite. Gulliver goes back to his world bitter and resentful of his own countrymen, his own species.
