Consider the question from the Act One Discussion Questions regarding the idea of the“I Want” Song. Hamilton gets his “I Want” Song within the first 15 minutes of the show with the song “My Shot,” but Burr doesn’t get his “I Want Song” until about 20 minutes into the Second Act when he sings “The Room Where it Happens.” What do you think is the significance of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s decision to place Burr’s “I Want” Song so late in the show?
