Hamlet

5. What do you think Shakespeare wanted his audience to consider in this scene? How do the gravediggers help to accomplish this? What does the skull of Yorick accomplish?

Please go into detail and answer all of the subquestions. If someone could use quotes directly from Hamlet to help me understand what is happening, that would be amazing. Thank you.

In my opinion, Shakespeare added this scene to provide a bit of comic relief..... to show the audience what Hamlet is really like. Even when living in the depths of despair and mistrust, Hamlet's sense of humor and wit shine through. He isn't merely a melancholy, young man, but a young man who considers the larger picture.
