Revenge and its consequences are a large part of the play. In his desire to revenge his father, Hamlet causes Ophelia to commit suicide, kills her father, is responsible for the poisoning of his mother, the death of his Uncle (the King), and ultimately, his own death as well. Hamlet's revenge has far reaching consequences.
