Hamlet

Can you please help me with this quote. It makes no sense to me

thou dost marry, I’ll give thee this plague for thy dowry. Be thou as chaste as ice, as pure as snow, thou shalt not escape calumny. Get thee to a nunnery, go. Farewell. Or, if thou wilt needs marry, marry a fool, for wise men know well enough what monsters you make of them. To a nunnery, go, and quickly too. Farewell.

Hamlet is talking to Ophelia. This speech really a combination of Hamlet's angst over women, his uncle has recently married his dead father's wife, and his plan for revenge against his Uncle Claudius. Hamlet is basically tormenting poor Ophelia. He tells her that, as a woman, she will never escape slander. She should also marry a fool because wise men know that women just poison them until they (the men) become unstable and violent. He adds that it would be better for her to become a nun so she never has children.
