Hamlet

Compare King Claudius' speech to Hamlet about his grieeving to his speech at the beginning of this scene. How does his speech to Hamlet contradict what he said earlier about his grief?

His speech at the beginning talks about how great of a man he was. What about the speech to Hamlet

In the speech to Hamlet he completely contradicts himself by taking on a condescending tone.......... one moment he commends Hamlet for his grieving, telling him it's honorable............. not long after, he cites it as unmanly. Claudius' tone is also contradictory....... one minute he grieves with the family, the next he's filled with exuberance.
