Hamlet
Did Ophelia experience any growth or changes during the story (explain)?
?
?
In many ways, Ophelia changes little during the story. She would like to defy her father about seeing Hamlet; yet when he says to return his "remembrances," she does what she is told. When her father is killed, she falls into a deep depression, simply having her only rock taken away from her. Her madness (which is more real than Hamlet's) draws her into a suicide which then ends all feelings. In general, she is depressed and sad, being swayed by every "wind" which blows her way.
