How does Laertes as another revenger become another foil for Hamlet How is he similar to and or different from Hamlet?

Hamlet certainly has his character foils. If it's not young Fortinbras trouncing through Poland for fun on a Saturday night, it's young Laertes avenging his family. Sure Laertes is brash, a little naive and whiny but at least he does something. Hamlet desperately wants to do something manly the entire play but instead muses about the meaning of life and that his uncle scores with his mother every night. Hamlet wishes he could pick up a sword and, like Laertes, go all postal at the castle.
