I think that you are referring to Hamlet's "They clepe us drunkards and with swinish phrase Soil our addition....." speech. Here he talks about how the Danes like to drink. Although Danes have achieved great things, their custom of drinking and partying detracts from their greatness. People in other countries refuse to look beyond their vices and paint them all in a bad way. Hamlet compares it to having a small birth defect yet people will not look past it and see what that person (with the defect) has achieved. So I guess, according to Hamlet, drinking excessively every night is like having a birth defect. People can be so shallow!
