Hamlet cannot believe that an actor can show so much compassion for a fictional character. Hamlet wonders why he cannot summon that passion to revenge his father. Hamlet also laments that Hecuba, who showed passion for her husband, was so unlike his mother.Hamlet thinks he needs to be more a man of action.
