What is ironic about how Mrs. Spars it takes the news of Mr. Bounderby's wedding?

Bounderby expects Mrs. Sparsit to be shocked and devastated, and she is neither...... in fact, she almost turns her nose up about it, as if she's too good for either of them. Sparsit even goes so far as to look as if she feels sorry for him.
