How does Marlow describe the general manager at the Central Station?

The manager is a company pawn who lives and works at the station. Marlow finds him to have "remarkably cold" eyes and a twisted sort of smile. Marlow finds him a vacuous fellow who babbles on about nothing in particular and seemingly adds an air of self promotion in what he says. Marlow remarks that the guy never gets ill. Marlow says this is because he has nothing of substance in him, "there was nothing within him."
