why?

Marlow remembers the words of the doctor about it being scientifically interesting to observe the mental changes of individuals while in Africa and observes, "i felt i was becoming scientifically interesting.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean but I think it has to do with the doctor's interest in Marlow as an experiment to see the affects of the African jungle on the "civilized" European mind.
