What is the main idea of Quey chapter?
The main idea in the Quey chapter is twofold. First, we see the relationship between Quey and his father interact.... it also deals with family identity. Second, the chapter deals with the topic of homosexuality, specifically, Quey's relationship with Cudjo, and his father's reaction to the two laying together while they were adolescents. As we learn about Akan tradition and tribal life, we also come to see that homosexuality is not accepted. Thus, Quey is torn between the members of his family, his sexuality, and his half African / half European heritage.
