12. Why is Sally sad?

Sally is sad because she has no freedom.... the only freedom she has is in the schoolyard. She is beautiful, but it's almost as if she is punished for that beauty. The girls are jealous, the boys are smitten.... Sally's lack of interest spurs rumors that are untrue. Even her father finds her beauty disconcerting.... nothing but trouble.
