describe the authors relationship with her family

esperanza
Esperanza is basically embarrassed about her family and their relative poverty. She is somewhat expected to live the aspirations of her talented mother; for much of her life she feels like she is not as good as everyone else. As a writer she understands that if she leaves the life she now lives, she must never forget where she came from. She is especially close to her little sister.
