House on mango street- describe the metaphor of the treeses?

Esperanza compares herself to the four skinny trees outside of her house. She decides that they don't belong in the barrio anymore than she does. She finds the trees inspiring, because, like her, they are strong...... they continue to grow all while being stiffled by the environment around them.
