What could be some of the weaknesses of House on Mango Street?

This is a very subjective question meaning that it's really up to rthe specific reader. The book is famnous for a reason and I certainly have trouble finding fault with it. My knowledge of Mexican culture and history is also lacking. Do you mind reading two paragraphs about her family’s hair or three pages about her longings to take a sandwich to school for lunch. Some people might find this a little boring but I feel there is message and tone to be had in everything the author writes.
