The English woman wanted to see David smile.... he was unable to do so because he didn't know how.
The woman leaned over towards him. "Yes, of course you can. But. .. David, I would like to see you smile."
"I. . . Tm sorry: I don't know how to do it." He turned away slightly and asked again, "Can I go now, sir?"
