Why does David not ask God for help when he's rescuing the girl from the fire?
I don't think that David has time to think of a prayer. He has to act quickly and decisively. When David realized the shed was on fire he grabbed his wet clothing and ran to the shed. He then wrapped his face in his shirt, pushed through the burning door, and rescued the little girl. David burned his hands and feet in the process.
