How has King's act changed David's idea of freedom ?

Throughout the story, David has been careful to protect himself, to hide his identify and thus, keep his freedom. In the end, he does not gain freedom on his own: king sacrifices his own life for David.

King's sacrifice allows David to see freedom in a different light.... it's not always an individual thing. Sometimes you need to both accept and give help in order to achieve real freedom.
