Did Roberto the sailor have the choice to turn David in instead of helping him? Was there any better way of helping David in the case of Roberto? What dilemma did Roberto face when he met David in the ship?

Roberto certainly had a choice when he discovered David on the ship. He could have turned him in to his superiors, but he chose not to. Instead of protecting himself and any repurcussions he might face if David was discovered, he chose to help him instead. Roberto's actions were heroic.
