What has david never seen in realtion to himself

I'm not sure what you mean exactly here. David washes himself and walks to town. He sees a cave type place with walls and a roof. He recalls that he could speak French, German, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew and English. He goes to the nearest town on the coast. He feels like a ghost but is able to get some bread. He notices people talking about although they don't seem to notice he is there.
