Why did the mother not like David? Give me two reasons why?

It wasn't that the mother didn't like David.... it was that he made her uncomfortable. She was taken back by the number of languages David spoke, and she was alarmed by his refusal to forgive her son. The mother was also disconcerted by David's awareness of evil.
