Malala describes herself as someone who belongs to many communities and assumes different identities. How does membership in being a Female influence her life?

Malala feels empowered by being a female in a patriarchal society. She mentions the incredible strength and resilience that girls have to offer, if only given a chance. Malala also writes about her personal hero, Benazir Bhutto, who once lead Pakistan to progressive reforms. Malala really conveys the sense that women are much less violent than men. She thinks that educated women can lift Pakistan out of its extremist patriarchal dark ages.
