Was Malala poor of wealthy? How did this affect her?

Malala's father ran a string of private schools and was a poet and an activist for education. He certainly was not poor in the sense that many of his countrymen were poor; having the money he did have allowed him to spend time educating his daughter. He also had time to spend with her developing her political desires, since he preferred that she be a politician rather than a doctor which was her original plan.
