I Am Malala

Why did Malala look up to Jinnah and Benazir Bhutto? What did they advocate for? How is Malala like them?

I've found partial of this answer; I know who Benazir Bhutto is and that she spoke against the terrorists. So clearly Malala is like them in that way, but I can't seem to find who Jinnah is and what they did? I'm using the young readers version.

Benazir Bhutto was the 11th Prime Minister of Pakistan, serving two non-consecutive terms. She was a moderate Islamic leader and promised progressive change in Pakistan. Malala loved the fact that she was a strong woman leader in a patriarchal country. Unfortunately she was assassinated.
