I think most people's self esteem takes a battering in life. We get lost in the endless labelling, categorizing, and competition of life. We tend to be ashamed of ourselves when we don't measure up. We are rarely told to be proud of who we are with all our perceived faults and blemishes. The speaker celebrates our individual traits that are so often lost in a sea of conformity.
