What is the point at the end of the book?
How does it tie in to the passage about smoke on page 79?
How does it tie in to the passage about smoke on page 79?
The end of the book is to reinforce that's life does indeed go on. The passage about smoke ponders how lives that had such virtue and goodness could be reduced to nothing so quickly, and disappear in the " big annihilating sky." The ending, which is purely fictional, shows that goodness and life will continue.
