how is dede different from fer sister's in the book?

Dede isn't as militent as her other sisters. She settles for men that seek to control her. Unlike her sisters, Dede takes longer to find her voice. It isn't until after the tragic deaths of her sisters that she becomes outspoken. She takes care of her sisters' children and evolves into a successful independent woman.
