in what wais do the mirabal sisters resist trujillo's authority? what methods are effective? Which ones aren't?

In the 1950's the sisters joined the underground resistance movement against Trujillo. THis is how they got their name "las Mariposas" or "the butterflies". Minerva resists Trujillo's constant advances. All sisters married men that were anti-Trujillo. THey also visited their husband's in prison despite a ban. I think Trujillo was effective through violence , torture and imprisonment. There comes a time though when that isn't even enough. The Sisters lived under a different code and had a calling. Trujillo had to kill all but one in order to stop them.
