Why wont Minerva and Mate be leaving prison?

Both women are considered "woman politicals" . They differ from "non-politicals" in that they pose an ideological threat to the autocratic Trujillo regime. The regime feels they are much more dangerous to the stability of the nations by undermining their uncompromising hold over the minds of the people.
