What is Jacob's purpose in writing and publishing her story? Do you think she achieved her purpose? why?

I think she wanted people to understand the abominable cruelty and injustice black slaves faced, especially from the point of view of a girl and woman. I think that she definitely makes her point. Her narrative is both gripping and heartbreaking.
