Saul is so good at hockey that even white teams want him but, at the same time, they will never accept him. Hockey becomes a "double edge sword" in that it allows him entrance to excell in the white world but also causes him great pain in the form of discrimination. It is a cruel paradox: the white world loves Saul's hockey but they hate him because he excells at "their" game.
