Saul is so good at hockey that he is recruited by white teams that desire his talent, but at the same time, refuse to accept him. Hockey becomes a "double edge sword" in that it allows him the opportunity to excel in the white world, but it also causes him great pain in the form of discrimination. It is a cruel paradox: the white world loves Saul's hockey but they hate him because he excels at "their" game.
