Describe friction between mother and grandmother Naomi?

Mother has been indoctrinated with Catholicism at the residential school. Even though she survived the cruelty, she still hangs on to the religion that was drummed into her. Her faith is surrounded with fear and self-loathing. She wants Benjamin to be with a priest after his death. Grandmother Naomi wants Benjamin buried in the traditional way.
