Changes in the life of the Indigenous most certainly left them attempting to cope. Unfortunately, alcohol became a crutch for many. In Chapter Three, we learn about the thousands of children who were kidnapped from their familes and forced to attend Christian schools. As a result of having their children taken away, and their families broken apart by government legislature, alcohol became a coping tool, as well as a huge problem.
