Saul fits in quickly with both the Kelly family and the Moose. Saul has a family that he has lacked for so many years and a stability that he has never known. He has a place to call home where he can get back in touch with his aboriginal identity. The Kelly family knew about the kind of trauma faced at St. Jerome's school. They were gentle to Saul offering guidence without parental control. Playing for the Moose allows Saul to tour other Indian villages and experience warmth of community and ice rinks lit up with Christmas lights. It was a romantic time for Saul.
