There is an article in the newspaper that was racist and stereotyped Saul for playing a violent hockey player. The paper used racialized troupes to describe Saul. Saul thinks maybe he should just live up to what is expected of him by the white world:

"Hey, I'm just giving them what they want," I said.
"Who?"
"The crowd, the team. Don't you read the papers? I'm the Rampaging Redskin."
"That was an unfortunate bit of cheap writing. I'm sorry you had to go through that," he said.
"Yeah, well, maybe I'm better suited to a tomahawk than a hockey stick."
"You and I both know that's not true."
"I'm the Indian. That's all they see."
