In this chapter, Saul realizes that he wanted so much to be loved that he didn’t resist the priest’s touches. Saul then becomes very emotional and comes to the realization that he loved hockey because it allowed him to shut out those memories.... to protect himself from his past. In turn, he also realizes that it is time to continue his journey.
