When Saul is at the top of the ridge, he sees a vision of some kind. His grandmother explained this is part of his gift, as a seer he would see certain things that others could not. What do you think is significant of this spiritual gift in Saul life as An Ojibway? After finishing this chapter, how do you feel for Saul now that you know this is something he claimed he has lost in the first chapter of the novel?

Saul uses his gift to play hockey. Saul can see the energy of the game. He is able to become a part of this energy and do things other players can't. The white world stole this gift away from Saul by making him mean and violent. I thought this was very sad.
