2. What questions remain unanswered?

I think Chris still remains an enigma. We wonder how he could not have known there was a ranger cabin not far from his camp. We wonder why he did not try to hike out despite the flooded river. He let himself starve to death by staying in the same place. Chris was naive about wilderness survival but he was not a stupid person. We are left wondering exactly what Chris was trying to accomplish when things went badly in the Alaskan wilderness.
