Yes, Chris was confidant that he was prepared for his time in the wild. He thought that reading books would allow him all the information he needed..... studying plant life and techniques for drying meat ect. None-the-less, he only possessed minimal supplies, limited experience, and refused to take the advice of those who knew better.
