Into the Wild
We learn that Chris was found 2.5 weeks after his death. How does that affect the feeling of the story?
None.
None.
I think there is a sense of loneliness about it. Chris only realized too late that he needed people. He was not a solitary existentialist philosopher. The fact that he was found so long after his death adds to the depth of loneliness and isolation of Chris's final journey. Chris found know wisdom in the Alaskan wilds: he had no epiphany of consciousness. In the end Chris was sad and alone.
