What are several ways that Chris thwarted his parents from finding out about him during his last year in college. What does this say about Chris?

Chris did not keep a phone in his little room that he rented. He did not call his parents at all. His parents only received his marks from his university. Chris had instructed the post office to hold his letters until August 1st and then send them all back. His parents thought Chris had received them but found them all returned when they came home from looking for him. This is perhaps Chris's greatest flaw. In perusing his freedom, he really tortured the people who loved him most. Chris can seem quite self-absorbed and selfish.
