Why does Krakauer identify with Chris?

Krakauer identifies with Chris because, like Chris, a willful, self-absorbed, passionate, and moody child who had problems with male authority figures. Krakauer also enjoyed dangerous adventures, constant travel, and making new friends..... something that is easy for both of them.
